Chocolate Swirl Milkshakes

Vanilla ice-cream, maraschino cherries, chocolate fudge syrup

Milk, vanilla extract

Ingredients

3 cups vanilla ice-cream

bullet

3 cups milk

bullet

3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

bullet

3/4 cup chocolate fudge syrup, divided

bullet

4 maraschino cherries with stems

Step 1

Combine ice-cream, milk and vanilla in a blender. Process until thick and smooth, about 1 minute.

Step 2

Divide fudge syrup among parfait glasses, covering the bottom and drizzling syrup in a spiral pattern around inside of each glass.

Step 3

Pour equal amounts of ice-cream mixture into each glass.

Step 4

Swirl some chocolate fudge syrup over each serving. Place 1 cherry on top of each milkshake.

Pre - Prepared Items for even Faster Serving Times

Let the ice-cream stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before beginning dessert preparation. The ice-cream will soften and be easier to blend in step 1.

Money Savers

You won't have to buy chocolate syrup if you have 4 to 5 ounces of milk chocolate chips on hand. Melt chips in a double broiler; cool slightly before drizzling in the parfait glasses.

Serving Variation

Mocha shakes make a delightful change. Use coffee ice-cream instead of the vanilla and garnish with instant coffee.
